TobagoLuxury Tobago Resort Holidays

Tobago is the southernmost of our choice of luxury Caribbean islands, and just 30 miles off the coast of Venezuela,Tobago is a step back in time – it's laid back and the local people are both charming and welcoming.Together with its sister island, Trinidad, the rainforest supports abundant flora and fauna but Tobago also has the lion's share of beautiful beaches. It's comfortable without being manicured, slightly on the wild side yet blissfully tranquil at the same time.Whilst the advent of direct flights from the UK has opened up tourism, Tobago is still unspoilt. We have a wide selection of hotels and villas to suit most tastes and we are sure that you will love Tobago as much as the Caribtours’ team does.

Did you know....?
Tobago has changed hands over 31 times from local Amerindians to the British, French and Dutch. Goat racing is the most popular sport, mainly at Easter – the ‘jockeys’ race with the goats on leads behind them! The steel pan originates from Trinidad and was first introduced in 1945 for VE Day.

Food & Drink
Local crab n' dumpling with curry and coconut milk, crayfish, pelau (rice with peas
and meat) and coconut bake (flattened bread flavoured with coconut and eaten
with cheese). Oil Down is a reduction of meat and breadfruit with coconut milk.
Delicious local fruits and vegetables are in abundant supply – in addition to the usual tropical fruits, try local Soursop,Portugals (like mandarins), Zaboca (avocado) and Mamee Apples (look like apricots and taste like peaches).

Restaurants
There's a great choice of restaurants, none of them necessarily sophisticated – dining in Tobago is more about flavour, charm and atmosphere. We can personally
recommend Jemma's Treehouse (for a beachside lunch of excellent local cuisine),
Shirvan Watermill, Bonkers, Kariwak (try the pink mint ice cream) and Le Melange.
